Join us on this Fun Learning Adventure to discover…
A world that never fails to impress or excite the senses.
We will get to spend half our time walking through the woods, looking for and learning how to responsibly harvest our fine fungal friends while crossing paths with some beautiful, cool and interesting plants!
Then, we’ll finish the day by talking about and identifying the specimens collected. We’ll learn about preservation techniques and some yummy recipes for the dinner table too.
Be prepared to hike rain or shine. Bring your favorite tool for taking notes about identification. Bring something to stay hydrated
and bring some snacks too. A day pack is always nice to have.
$20 per person. Ages 5 and up.
(Babies and toddlers are welcome, they may just get tired along the way.)
Reservations required. Call Carol at 301-746-4083 to reserve your spots with a credit card.
We are very excited to start working with Chris this summer. What a fantastic addition! Here’s a little bit about him, by him.
“I have spent most of my life enjoying everything about the outdoors, with hunting and fishing being my favorites. Going through the Natural Resources & Wildlife Technology program at Garrett College only fueled the fire for my interests. My love of fungi and plants started in college and grew while working for the local state parks as an outdoor educator. I find that spending time outside allows me to appreciate all the small things life has to offer. I have spent 10 years as an outdoor educator in my free time, teaching classes for several local organizations. I currently work as a Natural Resources Technician III for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. My passion is to inspire others to learn about our natural world and why it is so important to conserve what we have left.” Chris
