Wildflower Walk w/ Crede Calhoun Photographer

Our Sunday May 15th wildflower walk and photography safari adventure starts at 9am and will be 2-1/2 hour gentle walk into western Maryland’s Youghiogheny River Wild and Scenic River, Natural Environmental Area. Wildflowers will be abundant as well as other spring natural happenings in the forest and along the river. Your leader Crede Calhoun is an expert mountain guide, amateur naturalist and award winning photographer.

This mellow hike will be a fun learning walk for ages and introduce folks to the gorgeous riverside Kendall Trail. Crede is the designer and creator of the Friendsville History Tour, so if you like settlement, native American and frontier history he has lots to offer for those interested in history. It will be a fun walk with time to pause and gander at the scenery and forest surroundings. This area is one of our most wild and historic places with stories of logging and ghost towns.
